Airport and port routes

Chania Airport to Georgioupolis and Kavros: bus guide.

Plan CHQ transfers to Georgioupolis or Kavros using the airport corridor, the correct road stop, hotel access and a checked return connection.

Editorial review: November 1, 2026

Route at a glance

KTEL’s reviewed CHQ airport timetable lists the airport–Souda–Rethymno service and airport ticket pairs for Georgioupolis and Kavros. Check your selected departure and exact intermediate stop with KTEL. These two destinations are not one hotel zone, and a road stop does not guarantee a hotel-door arrival.

Check the airport corridor before choosing a city change

The airport bus stop is opposite Departures on CHQ’s east terminal side. The reviewed airport timetable is valid only for 1–8 November 2026, so use the replacement covering your date. Ask whether the Rethymno-bound airport departure serves your Georgioupolis or Kavros stop. A separate airport–Chania then eastbound connection is another itinerary, not an automatic requirement.

Georgioupolis has a specific road-stop warning

KTEL’s relocation notice places the Georgioupoli stop on the VOAK national road near Grigoris, replacing the former EKO stop on the Chania–Rethymno corridor. Confirm that location for your airport service and travel direction. Do not plan from an old hotel map. Ask the accommodation how to reach its entrance from the actual stop, including any road crossing.

Kavros and the village need different final plans

Send the property’s name and entrance pin, specifying Kavros or Georgioupolis. Ask whether a local vehicle is needed from the coach stop, especially with children, large cases or a pushchair. Confirm boarding assistance with KTEL. For a direct taxi or transfer, agree child seats, luggage capacity, flight-delay terms and the complete price for that property.

Confirm a return stop as well as a departure time

The published airport corridor also runs towards CHQ, but the start time in Rethymno is not the passing time at your stop. Obtain the correct pickup side and local time, then allow for hotel checkout and airline deadlines. If using a rental, confirm parking at the accommodation and the airport return procedure separately.
