Heraklion Airport, the commercial passenger port and the historic waterfront are separate meeting points. Decide which one your journey uses, then compare a city stay with the road trips you intend to make.

Name the actual meeting point
Use HER and your flight details for airport collection. For the ferry port, provide the vessel and arrival information from the ticket. Ask for the exact office or meeting pin; “Heraklion” alone leaves too much unresolved.

Plan city parking separately
The port authority publishes information about its parking areas. Check the location and terms before using one for a city visit. For an overnight stay, obtain the property’s access and luggage instructions instead of assuming the waterfront is a parking area.

Choose a coherent driving day
Knossos and the inland Archanes area make a different outing from the eastern coastal corridor towards Hersonissos. Pick one direction and the specific stops first. Confirm access and parking at each place rather than combining every nearby name into a day.
