Frangokastello is a settlement on the Sfakia coast in southern Chania, with a Venetian fortress beside the sandy shore. It combines a beach stop with an identifiable historic landmark. The sand in front of the castle and neighbouring coastal sections are not one uniform facility. Decide whether the priority is beach time, the castle or a wider coastal journey before adding stops.

Plan the actual route from Chania or your south-coast base to the chosen beach section. Check mountain-road conditions and parking rather than using a fixed journey time. If using a bus or driver, confirm the actual stop and return. Castle opening and admission are separate from reaching the shore.
