Glyka Nera, often called Sweetwater, is a pebble beach between Chora Sfakion and Loutro on the Sfakia coast. Its name refers to freshwater springs, not a guarantee of drinking-water quality. The absence of direct road access makes the approach part of the visit. Choose a confirmed boat arrangement or assess the coastal path carefully; a walk to a remote shore also commits you to a way back.

How to get there
Separate the road journey to the Sfakia area from the boat or walking leg. For a boat, confirm departure point, date, landing and return with the operator. For the coastal route, check the exact section, current conditions, exposed terrain and your group’s ability. Wear suitable shoes and carry drinking water independently of any springs.
